ramp1

With Wondefestival just around the corner, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys is proud to reveal that his take on Ultraman’s Jamira will be making it’s debut at the event in an “Original Bullmark” colourway! Officially licensed by Tsuburaya, the iconic “beast with no neck” has been hand sculpted by Jon, standing at around 5″ tall and coming with 3 points of articulation. Produced by Marmit (TBC) in an authentic vintage yellow soft vinyl with light blue/silver sprays that match the first ever Bullmark Jamira release, the figure will be making a strictly limited appearance at the “Paralyzing Toys” Wonderfestival booth this Sunday, July 27th for around 4,000yen ($40) a piece…

Joining Jamira, Rampage will also have a variety of other customs and micro-runs available at the event, including both the Anticristo 666′s and “Freshly Squeezed” (super-duper squishy!) Opening it’s doors over at the Rampage Studios gallery space in Tokyo earlier today, we can now finally reveal the line-up from the hotly tipped Paul Kaiju “MOCKADELIC” show in full! Whilst unfortunately for us overseas collectors it would appear that everything sold out right away, we can still drool at the awesome selection of PK figures that were up for grabs, with choice picks including both Mockbat and Mockpilot one-offs, plus a beautiful flesh Mock Bat micro run- all expertly hand painted by both Rampage Toys’ Jon Malmstedt and Paul Kaiju. MAN-E-NEWS// Rampage Toys’ custom Samael sofubi for the upcoming TAG group show…

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 12.29.48

Having been produced in strictly limited numbers under Wonderfestival’s one day licensing agreement, we sadly don’t see too many customs of Zoomoth‘s Samael sofubi… so when we found out that Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys would finally be busting out the paints on one for an upcoming group show at TAG, we had to stand up and take note! Taken from iconic video game Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts (the final boss, no less!) Jon has interestingly side-stepped the demon emperor’s mix of gold and purple for an altogether darker selection of colours, including blackened silvers and a devilish red… Joining a whole host of other customs from Jon, alongside works from Bwana Spoons, Martin Ontiveros, Joseph Harmon and T9G, the as yet untitled show will be opening its doors at the Toy Art Gallery next Saturday, June 7th…

MAN-E-NEWS// Rampage Toys’ officially licensed Jamira kaiju teased…

Screen Shot 2014-05-22 at 12.36.27

Taking his toy game to a whole new level, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has just revealed that he will be releasing an official Tsuburaya-licensed version of Jamira at Wonderfestival in July! Whilst we only have the above teaser to go by, we’re presuming that the soft vinyl kaiju will be going on sale under the event’s unique one day license agreement, which, unfortunately for most of us, is going to mean it’ll to be pretty hard to come by in the West. Regardless of obtainability, a Rampage take on the iconic neckless beast is sure to be a must-see once it’s finished, so we’ll be (rather impatiently!) keeping our ears to the ground for the full lowdown soon…

One of the first artists to be given the honour of painting up Paul Kaiju‘s new figures, Jon certainly doesn’t disappoint with these- the 7″ tall pilot coming in a tight blend of lilac, flesh, blue and neon green sprays with a mind-bending array of highlights, washes and hand painted detailing, whilst the batch of 9 Chibis have each been treated to their own unique paint app, ranging from the signature Rampage neons through to more classically inspired palettes… Going on sale at the Rampage Toys x Fig-Lab x Refreshment booth (E167/168) this Saturday, May 17th, we would say to look out for any leftovers online next Monday, but we all know that’s just wishful thinking!
