Having worked on a huge number of painted runs for various artists over the past few months, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has secured arguably one of his biggest projects to date- a painted run of Yusei and Moon Majin figures for Longneck’s Yoda Masahico! Created for mini exhibition “JON & PUNCH”, to be held at Yoda-san’s legendary Comso Knight Alpha this Friday, August 15th until Monday, August 18th, the super-limited run appears to feature just 2 of both the Yusei and Moon variants, each coming with a crazy mix of multi-coloured camo bodies and flesh toned faces. For those lucky enough to be in the vicinity of the Tokyo based store this week, you can expect to pay upwards of around 50,000yen ($488) per figure…

Fully compatible with the Gachapon Goblin micros (primarily the pictured Crazy Unicorn!), the 1″ tall figure has been hand sculpted by Jon, featuring a static turret with a removable top that can be replaced by the GG top halves. Already in the final stages of wax prototyping, we’re guessing the tiny tank will be making it’s debut at Superfestival and NYCC in just a couple of months time. Stay tuned for more info as soon as we hear anything!

MAN-E-NEWS// Rampage Toys’ custom Samael sofubi for the upcoming TAG group show…

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 12.29.48

Having been produced in strictly limited numbers under Wonderfestival’s one day licensing agreement, we sadly don’t see too many customs of Zoomoth‘s Samael sofubi… so when we found out that Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys would finally be busting out the paints on one for an upcoming group show at TAG, we had to stand up and take note! Taken from iconic video game Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts (the final boss, no less!) Jon has interestingly side-stepped the demon emperor’s mix of gold and purple for an altogether darker selection of colours, including blackened silvers and a devilish red… Joining a whole host of other customs from Jon, alongside works from Bwana Spoons, Martin Ontiveros, Joseph Harmon and T9G, the as yet untitled show will be opening its doors at the Toy Art Gallery next Saturday, June 7th…
