MAN-E-NEWS// Nerdone x DeathCat Toys’ NYCC exclusive GID “Nekos in My Pocket” playset announced…

With the success of the first round of “Nekos in My Pocket” tucked firmly under their belt, Nerdone and Johan of DeathCat Toys have revealed that they’ll be teaming up again for an NYCC exclusive glow in the dark run! Presumably featuring the same template as the original playset release, we’re guessing that a painted glow M.O.T.U.L.O.S sofubi castle will be joined by a pair of DeathCat’s signature mascot keshi in a matching hue. Limited to batch of 20 sets priced at just $80 each, we’ll be keeping an eye out for the drop time and booth location closer to the event in October…

But wait, there’s more! As well as the NIMP playsets, Johan will also be debuting an all-new figure at NYCC too, Meowlty Cat! Currently winging his way to Dubose Art for resin production, the little guy will initially be limited to a run of just 10. Again, expect more info and a full reveal closer to the con!

Both priced at just $2 a piece, with a 5 limit order per customer, the pair will be available from the October Toys store from 12pm PST this Friday, August 15th…

Joining the recently teased “Pea Shooter Mobile” and “RAMPAGE KAIBUTSUYA” (‘giant monster animal shop’), Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has just revealed yet another 2 figures that’ve hit the wax ready for a debut release at Superfestival next month! Whilst we still can’t confirm what the pair of worshipping natives are for, our guess is that they’ll be offered up as omake minis for the soon to be revealed KAIBUTSUYA figure. MAN-E-NEWS// The Custom L.U.C.H.A resin mini figures from Topheroy x MannyX…

Fresh from his first L.U.C.H.A release just a couple of weeks back (check them out here), artist MannyX has just revealed that he’s teamed up with fellow customiser Topheroy for a special run of painted one-offs! Featuring all 4 of the original M.U.S.C.L.E custom bootlegs alongside a whole host of other kit-bashed and re-sculpted minis, the figures have been hand cast by Manny in a variety of swirled clear resin tints, with each due to come with a unique Monster Kolor paint app courtesy of Toph. Word on the drop is still to be confirmed at present, so be sure to keep a close eye on the Topheroy Instagram feed right here for more details (and a full reveal!) very soon…

Barry Allen aka Gorgoloid is proud to present a surprise drop of unpainted “Attack of the Mushroom People” resin figures! Created as homage to one of the artist’s all time favourite sources of inspiration, Matango, and out of a general interest in mycology mythology, the mini mushroom kaiju stand at around 3″ of solid, hand cast resin, with this latest batch coming dyed in a variety of “Tropical” one-off Monster Kolor tints. Limited to an edition of 19, the little fungi can be found in the Gorgoloid store right here for just $27 each plus shipping.

Recently spotted over at the Kaiju-Lab blog, the guys over at Chinese toy company Point Panda have just unveiled their latest run of gacha-style minis, the Green Green Army! Consisting of 8 of the world’s most endangered animals – from the Amur Leopard right through to the Red Panda – each “Green Army Man” style PVC figure has been beautifully sculpted in the 2″ keshi scale, decked out with thought provoking, WWII inspired attire, supplies and weapons and packed with their own propaganda-style mini poster. Due for release across Asia (presumably in capsule form) late August, the Green Green Army will set you back just 200yen ($2) a piece- here’s hoping we can get them over in the West at some point!

The guys over at ToyAsObject are proud to announce their latest custom bootleg release, the MiniNikku resin mini figures! Kit-bashed and re-sculpted by Object’s Sean Gallagher from a number of different classic M.U.S.C.L.E figures, the pair have been cast by none other than Kris Dufler in a multitude of matching one-off resin tints. Due to be sold through the TAO store soon for just $20 set, be sure to keep track of their dedicated Instagram feed here for solid release details over the next few days…

With the recent success of the first run of Nekos in My Pocket mini figures tucked firmly under his belt, Johan Ulrich over at DeathCat Toys is proud to reveal yet another one of his figures is to receive the “mini” treatment, the beautiful Lilith! Currently undergoing resin production courtesy of DuBose Art, the triptych-style design appears to have adapted to the new scale perfectly, making both a great standalone mini, or, with some slight alterations, an awesome piece of jewelry. Artist MannyX has just revealed that he’ll be returning to the bootleg mini figure ring with his latest resin series, L.U.C.H.A! Kit-bashed and re-sculpted from a number of M.U.S.C.L.E figures as well an assortment of other classic vintage toys, the motley crew of 4 wrestlers have been rescast by the artist in a keshi-gomu style flesh toned resin. Coming packed in an authentic M.U.S.C.L.E inspired 4-pack blister, the limited run of 10 sets will be touching down in the PatrullaX store alongside a whole host of one-off singles this Friday, August 8th at 1pm PST, priced at just $25 and $7 respectively…

With the summer in full swing over here in the UK it’s time to chill out with a long drink, and what better way to cool down than to with UME Toys‘ Sippy Shortstraw in an all-new “Pink Punch” colourway! Standing at just under 3″ tall (around 4.5″ with her resin straw), the originally sculpted figure has been cast in solid resin, coming in a hand painted mix of pink, purple and white acrylics. Packed with custom header and signed collectors card, the little lady will be available over at the UME online store today (08/01) at 9pm London time, coming in at just £29 each plus shipping…

Following the success of his custom S.U.C.K.L.E run a few months back, Kaiju sprayer Topheroy turns his hand to mini figures once more with the reveal of 20 one of a kind M.U.S.C.L.E hand paints! Treated to a wide spectrum of Monster Kolor sprays and brushed detailing, the vintage 2″ PVC figs can currently be found in the Customantics store right here, selling blind bagged for an unbelievable $8 each shipped in the US. Interested parties are going to need to head over ASAP to avoid disappointment, at such a low price these guys surely won’t be hanging around for long!

Custom keshi master Eric Nilla has just unveiled his latest original figure, the El Kaiju lucha libre wrestler! Drawing inspiration from afar a field as kinkeshi right through to classic kaiju, the stunning hand sculpted piece stands at an oversized 2.5″ tall, making him the perfect companion to the original Nilla x Ironmask UoV “Boss” figures. Due for release alongside another all-new figure from the artist (more on that tomorrow!), expect to see the little rubber guy in a whole host of colours on the Nilla store soon…

Joining the previously unveiled Karnov mini, Newtervision is proud to present yet another all-new keshi that’ll be touching down at the “Paralyzing Toys” Wonderfestival booth next Sunday, July 27th, the Japanese cheap-toy styled Frank! The first figure in the artist’s “Deformate” series, Frankenstein’s monster has been beautifully realised in a super-deformed 2″ scale, featuring a 2 part design similar to previous Newtervision releases, with a soft rubber head/torso and hard resin legs. Produced in the standard keshigomu flesh-tone and packed in a custom gacha inspired box, Frank is likely to set you back around 3,000yen ($30)… Fingers crossed for an online release soon!

Coming bagged with a custom header from Ash inspired by the official backer art, these will be up for grabs at £25 a piece.

Bartholio “Naked Bart” and “Naked Beavis” jumbo keshi editions- Coming in a keshi-style rubber, these playable versions have been produced in yellow and flesh inspired by both Simpsons and Beavis & Butthead skin tones. Keshi collectors heading to Wondefestival next weekend are going to be in for a treat, as not only can they expect the previously posted figures from Zoomoth and Shamrock Arrow, Newtervision will also be throwing his hat into the ring with an all-new officially licensed Karnov keshi! Based on the lead protagonist in the obscure 1987 platform arcade game from Data East, the Russian strong man has been perfectly realised in mini figure form, coming cast in a flesh toned rubber complete with resin “power-up” ladder accessory. Due to be going on sale exclusively at the Paralyzing Toyz WF booth next Sunday, July 27th, Karnov is likely to be priced at around 3,000yen ($30).

Joining Zoomoth’s recently revealed mini figures, Shamrock Arrow are the latest to announce their one-day licensed exclusives for Wonderfestival Summer 14 next weekend, once again taking on Tsuburaya’s cult tokusatsu wrestling show Azteckaiser with 2 all-new keshi sculpts! Seeing the return of “Hell of Fresh Blood” in a slightly altered, sword wielding pose, the masked fighter is joined by the commander of the “Black Mist, Satan Demon, coming with a huge speared arm, oni mask and imposing horned helmet. Produced in an array of traditional keshi hues including flesh, green, blue and red, the pair of rubber mini figures will be up for grabs at the Paralyzing Toys WF booth next Sunday, July 27th for around 3,000yen ($30) each…

Johan Ulrich over at DeathCat Toys very kindly sheds a little more light on his upcoming collaboration with Nerdone, the “Nekos in My Pocket” playset! An ingenious mix of both keshi and sofubi, the super-fun set is due to feature 2 of Johan’s monochromatic rubber Death Cat minis housed in a fully painted MOTULOS castle from Nerdone- all coming packed with the beautiful header art created by Johan that you see above. Due to go on sale at an undisclosed location within the next few days, be sure to stay tuned for the full lowdown as soon as we hear anything!

As if the officially licensed Contra keshi revealed yesterday wasn’t enough, the guys over at Zoomoth have announced that they’ll be bringing back both Sack Head and Rick Taylor Splatterhouse figures for a special Wonderfestival exclusive 2-pack release! A perfect set for both newcomers and completists alike, both of the 2.5″ tall keshi have been produced in the original assortment of flesh, red, blue and green rubber, this time around coming with an all-new assortment of accessories- a mini “Body Eater” omake replacing Sack Head’s fetus and a butcher’s knife/shotgun combo substituting Rick’s health potion and bone club! Up for grabs alongside the Contra figure at Wonderfestival Summer ’14 for around 6,000yen ($59) a set, strict one day licensing rules on these is likely going to make them pretty hard (and expensive!) to obtain overseas…

DKE Toys have teamed up with none other than MuscleThings for their latest SDCC exclusive reveal, proudly presenting the Necro Klaw custom keshi! Featuring a digitally scanned rendition of the iconic M.U.S.C.L.E Claw figure, the sculpt has been subtly altered by MT, coming with additional detail on the face finger, a number of oozing wounds, as well as that all-seeing eye in the centre. Hand cast in the MuscleThings Laboratory using a flesh toned soft plastic, the Necro Klaw has been limited to an edition of 100, each packed in a resealable clamshell with backer art from MT. Look out for the figure at the DKE booth (#5045) for just $15 a piece once the con doors open on July 23rd…

With Wonderfestival Summer ’14 coming up in just a couple of weeks time, the guys over at Zoomoth have just revealed the latest (and quite possibly greatest) 1 day license they’ve secured for the event, taking on Konami’s classic run-and-gun platformer Contra! Focussing on one of the game’s main protagonists Lance Bean, the cigar huffing commando has been perfectly realised in Zoomoth’s oversized keshi-scale, coming in at a super-detailed 2.5″ tall. Due to be produced in the now standard palette of flesh, red, green and blue, the rubber minis will be up for grabs at the Zoomoth Wonderfestival booth for around 3,000yen ($30) each- time to get a reliable toy mule sorted, or face those steep aftermarket prices!

The guys behind Pasadena’s Robo Toy Fest are the latest to feature in DKE Toys‘ already staggering line-up of handmade SDCC exclusives, proudly presenting the RTF Robo GID figure!
