new releases_daniel yu

Singapore-based artist Daniel Yu is proud to reveal that a whole slew of figures have just touched down in his online store! Featuring a number of pieces that originally featured as part of Daniel’s extensive STGCC line-up last month, these have been joined by a number of seasonal, Halloween inspired pieces too. Here’s a quick rundown of the 10 new releases currently on offer…

Taupok King// A 4″ tall hand painted resin piece based on Devilrobots iconic Tofu character, each figure comes complete with individually sculpted maggots by Daniel. Limited to an edition of just 6 pieces, these have been priced at $100 each.

Tofu Head Halloween edition// Once again taking on Devilrobots’ Tofu, this time around as a single head with removable pumpkin, the hand painted resin figure comes in at 2.5″ x 2″ x 2″. Limited to just 4 pieces, these can be yours for just $65 each plus shipping.

Gory Bomb & Bronco Buster “Flesh” edition// Cast in a M.U.S.C.L.E inspired flesh-tone resin, the pair of vintage-styled 5.5″ (6″ in Bronco’s case!) wrestlers feature multiple points of magnetic articulation, each coming bagged with their own unique M.U.S.K.L.E header card. Limited to an edition of just 10 of each, both Gory Bomb and Bronco Buster have been priced at $40.

Mystery Mortis verion 2.0//
The hugely popular R. Mortis returns for it’s second blind bag assortment! Standing 3″ tall, the hand sculpted and cast resin piece has been produced in a total of 6 different color variants. Packed in a “blind” foil bag, these little guys have been priced at just $11 a piece.

Metalhead Blind Anarchy// Joining R.Mortis, Daniel’s latest Playmobil-style custom, the gritty Metalhead, has also received the mystery blind bag treatment! Standing at 3″ tall, the hand cast static resin figure comes in 6 different finishes. Again, packed in a “blind” foil bag, these come in at just $11 each.

The Footmen “Neon Tribes” and “Super Set”- One of our favourite releases from Daniel in a while, these awesome custom Playmobil figures takes direct inspiration from the 1989 TMNT cartoon’s Foot Soldier minions – more accurately the Playmate action figure interpretations – featuring the same instantly recognisable hooded ninja design, albeit with Daniel’s super-fine attention to form and texture. Produced in a total of 6 different neon colorways and coming with neo magnet articulation, these 3″ resins are available blind bagged for just $13, or as a 7 piece “Super Set” for $80- coming with an extra “shadow” Footman and retro mutagen canister exclusive to the bundle!

Gourd-like “OG” and “GID”// Rising from the depths, he’s harder than hardcore, he’s Gourd-like! The latest Playmobil-style custom figure from Daniel, the rather festive Gourd-like features the same punk body as Metalhead, albeit with a new Jack ‘O Lantern head. Available in a standard mixed part black/orange for just $13, a GID version with hand painted detailing is also up for grabs at $16…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Despair” rubber mini figure from Adam Quesnell and Stand Up! Records…

unnamed-96

“Despair is a demon from the 10th Circle of Hell; the level where people who make bad cinematic adaptations of classic toy properties are flayed for eternity. Not your average demon, Despair suffers from severe anxiety disorder and crippling depression. Satan himself even banished Despair from Hell for being a major bummer…

Cast out upon the earth in a fiery geyser of lava and tears, Despair landed in the parking lot of a comedy club that was hosting a weekly open mic night.  Despair put his name on the sign-up sheet, got on stage, and told his story. Since then, he has been punishing himself, night after night, on comedy stages of varying quality throughout the Midwest. He dances and lashes himself for audiences with hopes of selling t-shirts and CDs to drunk people who will not wear or listen to them.”

Originally teased a few weeks back, we can now bring you full release details of the debut figure from comedian and avid toy collector Adam Quesnell… Behold, DESPAIR!
