Previewed back at the beginning of the week, Lunabee has finally revealed the 5 adorable creatures that will be making up the latest series of Robobees. Hand sculpt and cast in resin by Cris Rose, the ‘Sprog’ based customs are to go on sale exclusively in the Lunabee store at 8pm (GMT) tonight. Entitled the ‘Warriors of the 5 planes’, the one-off designs will be available for $85 plus shipping.
Lunabee provides us with a little backstory for the 5 characters-
Let me present ‘Warriors of the 5 planes’ : A clan of brave and courageous warriors from all walks of life, united in protecting the Booshka Kingdom from enemies by working together with their special forces and talents.
This is Fornax: The feisty and intelligent red panda ‘Fornax’ originates from the Booshka forests. He is the leader of the team and organises all of their strategies and attacks.
This is Carina: The girl of the group from the Western farmlands, a little pig named ‘Carina’ whose tunnel digging is famed throughout the land. Perfect for surprising unsuspecting enemies.
This is Cetus: the rule breaker and always up for a fight ‘Cetus’ the piranha from the East Riverlands. His Robobee suit enables him to breathe out of the water – very dangerous for anyone not on his side with his razor sharp teeth.
This is Ursa: The frostily cool and calm polar bear ‘Ursa’ from the frozen lakes of the north is part of the teams muscle but also the most brilliant swimmer in the land.
This is Leonis: The wise and gentle natured lion ‘Leonis’ from the hot southern mountains is an expert in navigating – he knows every path, river and forest of Booshka like the back of his majestic paw.
Tonight (February 7th) sees the launch of the second figure in Cris Rose’s Robotone series, with this month’s addition coming in the form of Valentines Pink. Available in either Reynold or Rourke ‘Sprog’ designs, the 3″ hand cast resin robots come bagged and headed. Available from 6pm GMT over at Cris’ store for $25 plus shipping, the Valentines Pink Sprogs will only be around throughout February (or when stock runs out), so be sure to head over to the store soon to guarantee yours… And remember, if you manage to secure all 12 in either design throughout the year, Cris will send you the exclusive 13th edition for free!
Robotone releases are not a replacement for standard hand painted and rusted Editions of Sprogs, those are still ongoing as usual, they’re more of a monthly extra for those who like bright colours or require a more wallet-friendly robot in these trying economic times Also, they’re for me! I just love solid blocks of colour!
