Gearing up for what could quite possibly be THE crossover toy of the year, Rich over at Mutant Vinyl Hardcore has just revealed his take on Splurrt‘s recently released Apex Diggler… presenting the Feral Boy! Featuring an all-new head sculpt from MVH, the Diggler hide wearing wacko is said to be entering full vinyl production soon. The first of a 2 part collaboration with Splurrt, we can only assume that one of MVH’s many figures will be receiving a similar treatment soon… one word, EPIC! We’ll be keeping track on the project as it unfolds, but in the meantime, we suggest you guys keep a close eye on the MVH and Splurrt IG feeds here and here for all the latest info…

Kaiju heavyweights BLObPUS and Mutant Vinyl Hardcore have teamed up once again for yet another earth-shattering release… the 6 Eyed Ghoul and Doku Head DX set! Featuring the standard 1-eyed Doku head along with an all-new (you guessed it!) 6 eyed sculpt, the pair of Sludge Demon mash-ups are due to come cast in GID soft vinyl, expertly sprayed by BLObPUS in a variety of metallics. Fresh from the release of the ‘Original HP Versions‘ over the weekend, the Ministry of Kongz has teamed up with Topheroy for the first ever Kruzzilla painted micro run! Using the recently retooled, full articulated edition of MoK’s highly popular winged beast, Toph has opted for his signature palette of blue and purple, giving the figures a chrome base complete with some super tight C-Thru Monster Kolor sprays. Following a hugely successful debut drop last week, Tanin over at the Ministry of Kongz is proud to present the first hand painted versions of the Kruzzilla vinyl figure! Retooled from last year’s resin release, the fully articulated beast has been limited to 3 one-off colourways this time around; a gorgeous copper brown, a Superman inspired blue, red and yellow, and our favourite, the classic kaiju green and yellow with red highlights. MAN-E-NEWS// The Kruzzilla vinyl figure from Ministry of Kongz…
With the original resin figure a resounding success, Ministry of Kongz (originally Kobzilla) are happy to reveal that Kruzilla has just made the transition to vinyl! Inspired by the mythical Thai bird ‘Khrut’ with a dash of King Kong for good measure, the 4.5″ tall beast has been retooled by MoK to feature articulation in the wings/arms and waste, leaving the rest of the design largely unchanged. Due to be touching down in the MoK store at some point next week, an initial run of unpainted white blanks will be up for grabs, priced at just $26 plus shipping (group discounts available). Ending almost a year of speculation, Monster Worship have finally revealed images of the latest figure from Jeff Lamm… Mechanized Greasebat (Heavy Armored) aka Mecha Greasebat! Once again sculpted by the legendary Chauskoskis, the incredible figure appears to be roughly the same scale as the original design (around 7″), this time coming with 2 confirmed arm attachments- the pictured mace club and the rather interestingly titled ‘Rocketfire’! Tentatively mentioned as ‘coming soon’, we’re guessing the first round of figures will be making an appearance at SDCC in some form or another… Stay tuned for more info as soon as we hear anything!

Following the success of last month’s first ever Toy Mafia event at NYC’s Concrete, Clutter are proud to reveal that May’s is set to be even bigger than before- with a total of 5 exclusive toy releases up for grabs this time around! First up is a painted run of the highly popular Micro Kaiju Negora from Mark Nagata. Standing at 2.5″ tall, the soft vinyl cast figure has been hand painted by the artist in a mixture of yellow/red sprays and gold detailing. Limited to an edition of just 12 pieces priced at $30 each, any remaining figures will be heading to the Clutter online store on Monday, May 27th at 12pm EST. Bob Conge aka Plaseebo kindly shares details of his latest custom monstrosity, ‘Oxymoron Carnivale’ for Toy Art Gallery‘s YHWH group show! A combination of vinyl and hand cast resin with feathers, the outstanding piece features the recently revealed ‘Obese’ body sculpt (seen in the previously revealed ‘Burger King‘), standing at a lofty 14″ tall. Hand painted in a number of neon Monster Kolor sprays, the one-off piece comes signed by the artist. Opening it’s doors this morning to the usual hordes of sofubi and kaiju fans, the 62nd bi-annual Superfestival played host to one of the biggest showings from Rampage Toys yet, so big in fact that one booth was barely enough to contain the staggering selection of mini figures and sofubi! With a number of collabs, exclusive releases, new blanks and painted runs, we bring you a comprehensive lowdown of what was on offer, and (with a bit of luck!) will be available in the Rampage store next week…
Glyos Micro UU// Featured here on Friday, Superfestival 62 marked the debut of Rampage’s long awaited micro Glyos compatible figure. Cast by Eric Nilla, the 1.5″ piece comes with fully articulated joints. Cast in red/yellow, these guys come packed in a handmade window box.
Rampage Megara// A collaboration with Butcherbrand, these stunning sofubi minis have been cast in GID vinyl coming with Rampage’s signature mix of vivid sprays and tight fades.
‘Cute’ Zou-chan// The latest release from Rampage x Kikkake, the adorable little elephant has been cast in a light blue soft vinyl with blue/purple sprays and black/white detailing.
Blank Ugly Unicorns// Popular as ever, the signature Rampage sofubi has this time been made available in 3 unpainted colours; hot pink, neon orange and blue.
Telephone King// Angel Abby’s Telephone King sofubi mini received the Rampage treatment for the festival, coming in 2 distinct flavours- a metallic rainbow fade and retina burning V-Color neon.
Superfestival Manotaur// The latest painted run of the impressive 8″ beast from Imps & Monsters x Rampage, the beast has been cast in a clear red soft vinyl coming with tight masked black and yellow sprays.
Dino Gacha Gacha// The Dino Cyclops sofubis return for their latest blind bag (capsule!) run, and this time around they’re ALL painted! Featuring all 3 designs, the little guys come in a number of different colourways including a few unique one-offs!
Cakefighter head// Previewed earlier in the week, this Frenzy barbarian compatible head was sculpted by Rampage’s Jon Malmstedt and cast by Eric Nilla in a flexible rubber. Available at the festival sans-body, Jon has hinted at a full painted run in the near future.
Eric Nilla/Nama Niku- various// Both Eric Nilla and Nama Niku once again had strong showings at the Rampage booth, seeing the public debut of Mutant Dungeon Bastard, plus the return of old favourites Muscles of the Universe, SD Rick, Chibi Meatgrinder and Universe of Violence.
Tru:Tek and the Disarticulators- various// Unfortunately due to time restraints we weren’t able to bring anything new to the table for this one, but we did manage to send over a whole host of Critters, Wave 1 H.U.S.T.L.E, Kesh-E-Face, H.O.R.D.E and Beardfist, all in the exclusive Rampage neon pink and green… The festival also saw the debut of the long awaited Rampaging Critters. Cast in resin by Tru:Tek, Zectron’s little guys were painted up by Jon in a beautiful concoction of colours.

Designed by C.A.S.T’s Adam Saul and sculpted by Chauskoskis, the 8″ tall figure has been cast in a clear soft vinyl, coming complete with blue/red accent sprays and hand cast red resin ‘cicada’ heart! Packed with a silk screened header, the Toy Mafia exclusive Semi Korosiya has been limited to just 8 pieces, priced at $100 each. MAN-E-NEWS// The Rotten Rex kaiju wip from James Groman…
Illustrator, pro toy sculptor and creator of the much loved Brain Bug Boogieman, James Groman, has just revealed that the long awaited Rotten Rex kaiju will finally be seeing the light of day! Originally sculpted way back in 2011, it would appear that the humungous beast is now entering the wax prototyping phase courtesy of Luke Rook aka Grody Shogun, with full vinyl production (hopefully!) not too far off. Details on the figure are still pretty scarce, but judging by Groman’s previous blog postings he’ll be going all out on this one, offering up a packed-in self inked mini comic and mock movie poster print… Expect an update on this jaw-dropping release soon, and be sure to head over to the artist’s page here for an in-depth look at his incredibly diverse work.

After weeks of tentative planning Mutant Vinyl Hardcore‘s first community driven series, the Skull Brain Allstars, has finally been revealed in all it’s glory! Using the Death Head DX as platform of choice, MVH has enlisted the talents of 5 of Skull Brain‘s finest to work their magic on the figure (Hellopike, Dlux, Ungawa222, Nebulon5 and Gatchabert), with 5 from each also joined by a run by MVH’s Rich himself. To go on sale this Friday, April 26th (time TBC) through the MVH store, the SB Allstars will interestingly be sold blind bagged for $100 a piece, coming packed with header art from Skull Brain members… Head over to the MVH page here to sign up for further info.

Whilst we rather impatiently wait for the delivery of the first batch of unpainted Evolved Beast Digglers, Splurrt shares images of the latest monstrosity heading to soft vinyl… presenting the Cadaver Twins! As with the new Diggler, it appears the hideous beast will be significantly larger than his older brothers, this time around coming with 4 fully articulated arms and 3 legs. Unfortunately news on the release is still thin on the ground at the moment (we suspect it’ll be at least Autumn before it sees the light of day), so we suggest keeping track of the Splurrt IG feed here for any further developments…

As promised earlier in the week, Bob Conge aka Plaseebo treats us to a full reveal of his latest resin monstrosity, ‘Chicks Gone Wild’. Similar to the recent Misfits custom series, the stunning 8″ piece will form the basis for several ultra-limited customs over the next year, the first of which coming in the form of the pictured EASTER edition. A unique one-off piece, the figure has been hand cast and painted by artist, coming complete with blood splattered car and miniature human accessory. MAN-E-NEWS// ‘Easter Chicks Gone Wild’ teaser from Plaseebo…
Bob Conge aka Plaseebo teases us with his latest resin release, ‘Easter Chicks Gone Wild’, but instead of offering any full shots or solid details on the figure, we’ve been treated to this rather intriguing backstory…
“Remember all those yellow baby balls of fuzz and feathers taken from their mothers at three days old and offered for sale at Easter from the five and dime or Agway stores ? Quasi parents would offer them to their mauling offspring as cute and cuddly temporal pets to go peeping through the next three weeks or so until the malnourished and exhausted chicks lost their novelty and outgrew their cuteness.
A few were fortunate enough to be dropped off at local farms as orphans to live out life at the bottom of the pecking order. The majority however met a much less desirable end. By mid April the annual country wide genocide was in full swing at the hands of unfeeling nazified mothers and fathers. A flush of the toilet and they were done till next March. Thus annually reenforcing the unspoken lesson for their children, “If you are not cute, you are worthless !”
Well as chicken karma would have it, in 1958 some of the besieged chicks were dumped one night on a dirt road near an abandoned farm in Alamagordo New Mexico. The empty farm sat on the fringe of the Nevada Proving Ground for atmospheric atomic testing and the lost chicks found endless fields of irradiated corn and ponds filled with water that would glow green at night.
Only two years later they were thirty-eight feet tall and were eating everything they could pick apart with their razor sharp beaks. Throwbacks to their dinosaur ancestors, they began attacking cars on lonely night highways and eating the tasty humans inside the metal eggs.
How cute…”

MAN-E-NEWS// Surinama ‘ROYGBIV’ from Topheroy x Whistling Pony Toys…
Formed back in 2009 by New York based artist Stephen Singer, Whistling Pony Toys recently took the leap from resin into the world of sofubi with the release of the awesome Surinama… Taking inspiration from the infamous Surinama toad that gives birth to live babies which emerge from the amphibian’s back (hence the super-creepy detailing on the figure’s reverse!), the piece was sculpted by Stephen and then tooled and molded by Luke Rook of Grody Shogun in Japan. Having already secured a number of successful editions over the past couple of months (including the previously featured Valentines edition), Stephen has now turned his attentions to collaborative runs with some of the art toy scene’s finest- the first coming from Monster Kolor wizard Topheroy… Entitled the ‘ROYGBIV’ edition, the 6″ tall figures come cast in clear soft vinyl, replete with Topheroy’s signature mix of clear, metallic sprays and meticulous fade work. Limited to just 10 pieces, ROYGBIV can be found on the Whistling Pony store right now for just $85 a pop…

Mintyfresh have just released images of their first ToyCon exclusive offerings… as they present not 1, but 2 all new ‘DEBRIS’ colourways! Created by Restore, the highly sought after sofubi will be available in both a neon-infused ‘Mintyfresh’ edition with leaf fundoshi, and a more traditional black with gold leaf, cloth and giant sized paper talisman. No news with regards to pricing or edition size (although we’re guess they’ll be extremely limited), so we suggest anyone interested should make the Mintyfresh booth their first port of call…
