MAN-E-NEWS// Bukimi Blasters’ latest sofubi proto revealed…

Fresh from the success of both the Evil Demon and Bukimi Kun sofubi, Shigeo Endo over at Bukimi Blasters has just revealed that a third, full-sized figure is set to drop soon! Pictured here as a near finished clay proto, the as-yet-unnamed beast carries a similar aesthetic to previous releases, drawing inspiration from Obake yokai, 80’s gross-out toys and neo kaiju to devastating effect. Due to be making it’s debut in soft vinyl at some point in May, be sure to stay tuned for more news on this awesome figure over the coming weeks…


MAN-E-NEWS// The “Chinpira” kaiju from Yamomark…

Satoru Doki over at Yamomark has just revealed his latest full-sized kaiju to make it into vinyl, the awesome Chinpira! Borrowing elements from the previously released Yamobazooka and Dobler, the approx. 9” tall beast comes with a number of eye-catching design features, including a tree trunk-like arm, a snake companion resting on his shoulder, and a rather ominous phallic-shaped head! Pictured here in it’s debut colorway – GID vinyl with a mix of pink, blue, gold, metallic brown and green sprays – it would appear that Chinpira will be making it’s first appearance at the upcoming Doki Doki Osaka Sofubi Show next month. Here’s hoping for an international online release soon after…

With our very own exclusive “Albino” Rotten-X coming to the Man-E-Toys store this Thursday, February 26th – check our original post here for full release details – we thought we’d share yet another upcoming version of the figure, Triclops’ “Milky Way” edition! Featuring the Triclops designed/Zectron sculpted “Rotten Tomato” ball as a head, the stunning “X” body figure has been jointly produced by Rampage Toys and Skull Head Butt, standing at around 9″ tall and coming with 5 points of articulation. Marking the figure’s third colorway following the previously released NYCC exclusive “red” and Lucky Bag “green”, Rotten-X has been cast in a gorgeous milky light pink with red lamé this time around, coming with a stunning mix of metallic red, gold, purple and blue sprays courtesy of Rampage Toys. Limited to a run of just 10 pieces, these guys will be up for grabs through Triclops soon for just $95 each plus shipping. MAN-E-NEWS// The Man-E-Toys exclusive “Albino” Rotten-X and 1st Oozeball online release announced…

First off, we’d like to give our regular readers a massive apology for the lack of coverage over the past few days, you have a word we’ll be back running full steam by the end of the week! Our absence hasn’t been without cause though, as we’ve been gearing up for not one, but two massive drops in-store next week. First up, we have the long-awaited arrival of the Man-E-Toys exclusive “Albino” Rotten-X… Featuring the Triclops designed/Zectron sculpted “Rotten Tomato” ball as a head, the stunning “X” body figure has been jointly produced by Rampage Toys and Skull Head Butt, standing at around 9″ tall and coming with 5 points of articulation. Marking the figure’s third colorway following the previously released NYCC exclusive “red” and Lucky Bag “green”, Rotten-X has been cast in a gorgeous milky light pink with red lamé, coming with vintage-style metallic yellow, green, pink and black sprays courtesy of Rampage Toys. Next up we have the much anticipated first online release of The Disarticulators’ Oozeball sofubi! Designed by Tru:Tek and sculpted by Zectron, the loving tribute to Ooze-It, Madballs and Georges Méliès’ A Trip to the Moon has finally undergone full production over in Japan, with the first batch now ready and waiting to be sent out to those who preordered back in October/November. Produced in a super-squishy soft vinyl and fitted with a previously unannounced squeaker on the undercarriage (yep, you read that right!), the ball has initially been produced in 2 colorways; the OG “Ooze-It” green and NYCC exclusive “Moon Dust” grey/silver sparkle. Whilst the majority have already been called for, an undisclosed amount of each will be touching down alongside the “Albino” Rotten-X in the Man-E-Toys store next Thursday for just $45 each… But wait, there’s more! In the build up to the release, Tru:Tek will be offering up a 1/1 uncut “Moon Dust” test pull in a “hard” soft vinyl to one lucky Instagram follower- so be sure to keep track of his feed right here over the next couple of days to find out how you can snag this true collector’s piece!

Keeping up the momentum of last month’s release, a total of 4 figures are up for grabs again – tank beast Warsgon, standing at just over 9″ tall and coming in a clear yellow vinyl with metallic green, blue, red and yellow sprays; construction site monster Kougira, coming in at 8″ and cast in a green vinyl with yellow, red and metallic teal sprays; the 9″ tall Puppet Seijin in a gorgeous clear violet vinyl with metallic blue, red and green sprays; and Dancheera, produced in a clear vinyl with an assortment of neon sprays – all come in at a very reasonable 8,000yen ($67) each plus shipping. MAN-E-NEWS// Plaseebo’s custom “Aquagaramon” for FOE’s Garamaniacal Too Show…

Bob Conge aka Placeebo kindly shares the first of 2 pieces he’ll have on display at FOE Gallery‘s upcoming Garamaniacal Too Show, the one-off custom Aquagaramon! Inspired by Garamon rather than being a straight up interpretation of the classic kaiju, Placeebo’s creation blends both vinyl and rubber with hand cast resin elements for this aquatic take on the beast. Hand sprayed in a mix of flat and metallic sprays, the 5 1/2″ long piece comes complete with inset eyes and a switched-controlled internal color-changing LED unit. Signed and dated by the artist, Aquagaramon will be up for grabs at the show’s opening this coming Friday, February 13th for $650… Stay tuned for Plaseebo’s second entry, the Garamon Tank, later this week!

Refreshment Toy have just revealed that their collaboration with RealxHead – the Chaosman Lady – is set to return in 2 exclusive colorways for Wonderfestival Winter 2015 this weekend! featuring the standard “adult” Chaosman body with Refreshment’s cat head sculpt, the pair have been produced in a glossy black soft vinyl with a mix of classic RxH and Kamen Rider inspired metallic sprays, coming complete with dolls eye inserts and satin neck scarves. Available at the event this Sunday, January 8th at an undisclosed booth, the Chaosman Ladies have been priced at just 6,500yen ($55) each…

Having been teased here over the past couple of weeks, we can now finally reveal Awesome Toy‘s Loch Ness Monster sofubi in-full! Inspired by easily the most obscure and hard to obtain figure from the iconic Stretch Armstrong line – the Stretch Serpent – the stunning 4″ tall figure features a number of design alterations that better suit the new medium, including a revised head sculpt plus a small curling tail similar to Leo Boya’s Guzo Kaiju. Currently available via preorder through the Toy Underground store right here, 2 unpainted colorways are up for grabs; a standard green and keshi-gomu style flesh, both coming in at a very reasonable $30 each plus shipping. Expect delivery at some point in March 2015…

Paul Kaiju has teamed up with BLObPUS to offer up a mind blowing set of figures; the Blob Bat, Beastwalking Hellmock and Mockapus! Ingenious mash-ups of BLObPUS’ signature figure and PK’s Mock Bat, the trio have been produced in a gorgeous milky soft vinyl for the release, coming with a mix of metallic teal, pink orange and purple sprays. Up for grabs at just $350 plus shipping, anyone looking to bag the set is going to need to fill out the dedicated raffle form that’ll be appearing on the artist’s site (click the “Raffle Open” tab on the front page) this Sunday, February 1st at Noon PST. Standing at a lofty 13″ tall, this ode to Lord Humungous has been produced in a pale flesh soft vinyl, coming with layer upon layer of neon red, muted purple, metallic green and silver sprays. Packed with 2 different arm attachments this time around; one to hold the haunted battle axe and one to display the severed head/spiked ball omake, the incredible figure will be up for grabs through the MVH via 24 hour lottery over the next day or so for just $200 plus shipping. Following the announcements of both the 4-Armed Bakura and Bootleg Stretch Serpent, the guys over at Awesome Toy have got yet another project to announce this month… The Super Robot Fake Baron “Vs Battle Sets”! Here, Awesome Toy kindly explain a little about the project… “Imagine Fake Baron is a real tv show, whereby in each episode Fake Baron will be fighting different enemy. It is a collaboration project between Awesome Toy and many other sofubi makers around the world. In each battle set, we will be painting other sofubi brand’s character and the partnered brand doing the same for our Fake Baron. Each battle set will be very limited and will only be selling through lottery for our fans.” With the initial “episode” of Fake Baron set to drop sometime next month, be sure to keep track of Awesome Toy’s Instagram and Facebook accounts for a reveal of the first collaborative artist/toy, plus details on how to enter the lottery… In other Awesome Toy news, the guys have just revealed the first image of their upcoming Stretch Serpent in wax! It’s been a little while since the last time Frank Mysterio‘s Anticristo 666 saw the light of day, so it came with great pleasure this week to find that an all-new edition has just touched down online! Entitled the “Digimon” version, the 8″ tall sofubi has been produced in a bright red soft vinyl this time around, coming with a mix of vivid masked/free V-Color sprays and hand painted detailing inspired by the iconic Japanese franchise. Featured here as a work-in-progress sculpt just a couple weeks back, Joe Whiteford‘s unique take on Ultraman’s meteorite monster, Garamon, is now finally complete! Created for FOE Gallery‘s upcoming Garamaniacal Too group show, the awesome figure has been recast in resin for a number of different custom one-off resin releases, the first of which – featured above in a gorgeous Pigmon-inspired paint app – will be appearing at the exhibition next month. Be sure to keep track of the Joe Whiteford Instagram feed right here for details on the artist’s future plans for the figure over the coming weeks…

Joining the previously announced Homunculord minis (check them here), Krotpong has just revealed that he will also have an all-new large size sofubi dropping soon too… the hulking Kanzler Arschloch! Standing at a monstrous 14″ tall and coming in at around a pound of soft vinyl, the decaying beast has been hand-sculpted by Krotpong with production duties once again handed over to Velocitron over in Japan. Due to be making it’s debut alongside the Homunculord finger puppets in both a keshi-gomu flesh and GID green in the near future, be sure to stay tuned for the full lowdown on the first release soon…

Ahead of the highly anticipated Stretch Serpent sofubi featured here just last week, Awesome Toy have revealed yet another new figure for 2015, the 4-Armed Bakura! A follow-up to last year’s Fake Spectreman, the official P Productions licensed release takes on one of the classic tokusatsu series’ many kaiju foes this time around, offering up the quad armed beast as a towering 9″ tall figure complete with matching Bakura parasite. Marking the first release in 2 very different colorways; a standard GID and a green GID – both coming with paint apps devised by Osamutoi – the pair are currently available to Japanese customers through the Medicom Toy store right here for just 11,500yen ($97) each plus shipping. Due to licensing restrictions, Bakura is unfortunately unavailable to overseas customers, so anyone interested should make enquires with their regular forwarding service to be in with a chance of securing the pair…

Having seen sell-out releases at NYCC, Designer Con and Toy Art Gallery over the past few months, Joe Truck Kasher over at Snatchpunch Creature Cartel is proud to reveal that his debut sofubi – the queen of gross known as Bostyrant – has received an exclusive colorway through Medicom Toy! Designed by Joe, sculpted by Grizlli Atom aka GNOSIS and produced by Velocitron, the mid size, 4-part soft vinyl figure comes brimming with gruesome details, including multiple oozing eyes, gaping, stitched flesh and four putrid, witch-like udders- all sprayed up in a stunning multi-metallic paint app conceived by Nebulon5. Currently available in Japoan through the Medicom Toy store for just 8,500yen ($72), overseas customers are going to need to fill in the dedicated lottery form right here before close on February 10th to be in with a chance of securing the beast…


MAN-E-NEWS// Awesome Toy’s bootleg Stretch Serpent sofubi teased…

With the success of both FAKEBARON and FAKESPECTREMAN now tucked firmly under their belt, the guys over at Awesome Toy have started work on an all-new bootleg style sofubi, taking on Kenner’s infamous “Loch Ness” Stretch Serpent! Easily the most obscure and hard to obtain figure from the iconic Stretch Armstrong line – with recent auctions securing prices topping $9000 – fans of the figure will now finally be able to secure a version that, whilst won’t stretch like the original, will be relatively easy to obtain, and more importantly won’t break the bank! Due to be produced in soft vinyl, Awesome Toy have made a number of adjustments to better suit the medium, including a slightly revised head plus a curling tail similar to Leo Boya’s Guzo Kaiju that replaces the original’s straight design. Whilst a release date is still to be confirmed, the near finished teaser of the neck joint shown above would suggest we don’t have too much longer to wait before Nessy makes it into production… Keep track of the Awesome Toy Instagram feed here for more developments soon!

MAN-E-NEWS// New Mecha Zag sofubi in the Gargamel 2015 Lucky Bags…

Having only dropped in the West just yesterday, we’re already starting to see some of the Gargamel Lucky Bag contents filtering through into social media, the biggest surprise so far coming in the form of an all-new Mecha Zag! Revealed here by Super7 owner Brian Flynn, this blank, mixed part figure features the standard body of the mid-large size Zag, albeit with a never-before-seen mechanised head. We’re still unsure as to whether this is how the final product will remain once it receives an official release, or whether the head will be joined by a new mecha body too, but you can be sure that as soon as we find out you guys will be the first in the know…

MAN-E-NEWS// Rampage Toys’ Aboras “Ultra Kaiju” debut at Wonderfestival Winter 2015….

Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has just revealed that he will be attending Wonderfestival on February 8th with a whole host of new releases! Joining forces with the usual suspects – Nerdone, Shamrockarrow, Datadub, Pop Soda and Refreshment – a number of one-off customs and micro runs will be up for grabs including Nerdone Gorilla Tanks and some Villager Omake “Snack Packs” (which will be bagged with header card by Walter P), as well as the debut of the latest figure in the officially Tsuburaya-licensed RAMPAGE Ultra Kaiju  Series, Aboras! Standing in-scale with the previously released Jamira, the 5″ tall figure features 5 parts this time around, coming cast in a painted blue-green soft vinyl for it’s first release. To be joined by a new painted flesh Jamira, the pair will be up for grabs at the event for just $40 each, with any remaining heading online the following Monday…
