Fresh from the huge OMFG/Elephantos drop last week, the ever busy Daniel Smith aka turboPISTOLA kindly shares yet another batch of customs ready for release! Flexing his newly found Monster Kolor muscle, Daniel has gone to town on 3 very different pieces; ESC Toys’ Turtum Micci mini ($40), Scott Tolleson’s GID Deadbeat sofubi ($130), and our favourite, the classic Skekiltor resin from the now defunct Halfbad Toyz ($30)- each featuring an expert black rub layered with numerous washes and tight fades. Look out for these guys when they hit the turboPISTOLA store later today (May 21st) at 1pm Eastern time…
MAN-E-NEWS// The Mecha Greasebat sofubi from Jeff Lamm x Monster Worship…
Ending almost a year of speculation, Monster Worship have finally revealed images of the latest figure from Jeff Lamm… Mechanized Greasebat (Heavy Armored) aka Mecha Greasebat! Once again sculpted by the legendary Chauskoskis, the incredible figure appears to be roughly the same scale as the original design (around 7″), this time coming with 2 confirmed arm attachments- the pictured mace club and the rather interestingly titled ‘Rocketfire’! Tentatively mentioned as ‘coming soon’, we’re guessing the first round of figures will be making an appearance at SDCC in some form or another… Stay tuned for more info as soon as we hear anything!
MAN-E-NEWS// Rampage Toys’ ‘Neon Golden Deadbeats’ for Design Fiesta 37…
We brought you a guys comprehensive guide to the Rampage Toys Design Fiesta exclusives last week, but there was one figure in particular that we weren’t able to reveal in full at the time… Well the wait is over, as Rampage’s Jon Malmstedt proudly presnts the ‘Neon Golden’ Deadbeats! Tackling Scott Tolleson’s ridiculously popular figure with ease, Jon has sprayed the clear cast soft vinyl piece in a mixture of neons and metallics, finishing up with some nerve-rackingly tight hand painted details. No news with regards to edition size on these, but John has mentioned that any remaining stock from the show will be heading to the online shop on Saturday evening (May 18th) Japan time (around 6am EST)… Check out our previous post here for the full list of DF 37 exclusives!
MAN-E-NEWS// Rampage Toys at Design Fiesta 37…
With Design Fiesta 37 opening it’s doors next weekend, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has started to reveal some of the goodies he’ll be bringing along to the event… lovers of Rampage sofubi are going to need to take note, there’s some seriously cool figures you most definitely wont want to miss out on! Here’s a quick rundown of what’s been announced so far-
- DF 37 X-Ray Ugly Unicorns- Cast in a clear/GID marbled soft vinyl, these once again see the return of the popular X-Ray cellophane inserts, this time around with some beautiful pink fade work. Limited to an edition of 4 including 1 clear red chase.
- Topheroy UU’s- Design Fiesta will finally see the long awaited release of the Topheroy UU micro run! Limited to 5, these have been painted in Toph’s signature metallic Monster Kolor fades, black detailing and hi-gloss coat.
- Design Fiesta Dinos- With the clear red UU’s proving a huge success, Jon has had a limited batch of the Cyclops Dino sofubis cast in the same colour! Coming with silver/grey and white sprays plus yellow and black detailing, these guys have been limited to 4 sets.
- Rampaging Deadbeats- The first sofubi collaboration to be revealed for the event, Jon tackles Scott Tolleson’s highly popular Deadbeat figure head on, painting the little fellas in Rampage’s infamous mix of neon V-Color sprays and brush detailing. Edition size (and a full reveal!) are to come, but judging by the pic above our money is on 8.
Available at the Rampage/Refreshment/Pop Soda booth (# C-359), Jon has stated that a number of the pieces will be heading online after the first day (May 18th). We suggest setting your alarms if you live state side though- the drop is planned for 6am EST! Stay tuned for more Design Fiesta reveals next week…

Joining the previously revealed Toxic Avenger Sewer Creep in-store this week, Lulubell Toys are proud to present the latest in a long line of figures to receive the ‘Shooting Blanks’ treatment… Skinner’s Ultru Bog! That’s right, after an endless barrage of requests for blank Bogs, Lulubell is set to deliver with both unpainted black and GID versions of the ever popular sofubi. Available through the Lulubell store on pre-order (no maximum orders) for one week only starting Friday, May 3rd at Noon Pacific, expect to pay $75 each plus shipping. Delivery on these guys will commence July/August…

Toys Are Sanity’s Coma21 continues his onslaught of ‘Ian the Sewer Creep’ collaborations as he proudly presents the latest painted run from none other than Dski One… Taking inspiration from cult 80′s horror The Toxic Crusader, the tutu wearing ‘Toxie’ has been been painted up in a mixture of green, red and blue sprays, coming complete with mop accessory from Lulubell’s Amy! Dropping in the Lulubell Toys store this Wednesday, May 1st, the Toxic Avenger Sewer Creep has been priced at a very reasonable $60 plus shipping…

Opening it’s doors this morning to the usual hordes of sofubi and kaiju fans, the 62nd bi-annual Superfestival played host to one of the biggest showings from Rampage Toys yet, so big in fact that one booth was barely enough to contain the staggering selection of mini figures and sofubi! With a number of collabs, exclusive releases, new blanks and painted runs, we bring you a comprehensive lowdown of what was on offer, and (with a bit of luck!) will be available in the Rampage store next week…
Glyos Micro UU// Featured here on Friday, Superfestival 62 marked the debut of Rampage’s long awaited micro Glyos compatible figure. Cast by Eric Nilla, the 1.5″ piece comes with fully articulated joints. Cast in red/yellow, these guys come packed in a handmade window box.
Rampage Megara// A collaboration with Butcherbrand, these stunning sofubi minis have been cast in GID vinyl coming with Rampage’s signature mix of vivid sprays and tight fades.
‘Cute’ Zou-chan// The latest release from Rampage x Kikkake, the adorable little elephant has been cast in a light blue soft vinyl with blue/purple sprays and black/white detailing.
Blank Ugly Unicorns// Popular as ever, the signature Rampage sofubi has this time been made available in 3 unpainted colours; hot pink, neon orange and blue.
Telephone King// Angel Abby’s Telephone King sofubi mini received the Rampage treatment for the festival, coming in 2 distinct flavours- a metallic rainbow fade and retina burning V-Color neon.
Superfestival Manotaur// The latest painted run of the impressive 8″ beast from Imps & Monsters x Rampage, the beast has been cast in a clear red soft vinyl coming with tight masked black and yellow sprays.
Dino Gacha Gacha// The Dino Cyclops sofubis return for their latest blind bag (capsule!) run, and this time around they’re ALL painted! Featuring all 3 designs, the little guys come in a number of different colourways including a few unique one-offs!
Cakefighter head// Previewed earlier in the week, this Frenzy barbarian compatible head was sculpted by Rampage’s Jon Malmstedt and cast by Eric Nilla in a flexible rubber. Available at the festival sans-body, Jon has hinted at a full painted run in the near future.
Eric Nilla/Nama Niku- various// Both Eric Nilla and Nama Niku once again had strong showings at the Rampage booth, seeing the public debut of Mutant Dungeon Bastard, plus the return of old favourites Muscles of the Universe, SD Rick, Chibi Meatgrinder and Universe of Violence.
Tru:Tek and the Disarticulators- various// Unfortunately due to time restraints we weren’t able to bring anything new to the table for this one, but we did manage to send over a whole host of Critters, Wave 1 H.U.S.T.L.E, Kesh-E-Face, H.O.R.D.E and Beardfist, all in the exclusive Rampage neon pink and green… The festival also saw the debut of the long awaited Rampaging Critters. Cast in resin by Tru:Tek, Zectron’s little guys were painted up by Jon in a beautiful concoction of colours.

As promised in our post yesterday, we bring you the second figure to feature at Clutter‘s Toy Mafia this coming Saturday… Cop A Squat Toys‘ Semi Korosiya (Cicada Killer)! Designed by C.A.S.T’s Adam Saul and sculpted by Chauskoskis, the 8″ tall figure has been cast in a clear soft vinyl, coming complete with blue/red accent sprays and hand cast red resin ‘cicada’ heart! Packed with a silk screened header, the Toy Mafia exclusive Semi Korosiya has been limited to just 8 pieces, priced at $100 each. MAN-E-NEWS// The Rotten Rex kaiju wip from James Groman…
Illustrator, pro toy sculptor and creator of the much loved Brain Bug Boogieman, James Groman, has just revealed that the long awaited Rotten Rex kaiju will finally be seeing the light of day! Originally sculpted way back in 2011, it would appear that the humungous beast is now entering the wax prototyping phase courtesy of Luke Rook aka Grody Shogun, with full vinyl production (hopefully!) not too far off. Details on the figure are still pretty scarce, but judging by Groman’s previous blog postings he’ll be going all out on this one, offering up a packed-in self inked mini comic and mock movie poster print… Expect an update on this jaw-dropping release soon, and be sure to head over to the artist’s page here for an in-depth look at his incredibly diverse work.

Cast in a blue soft vinyl with pink/red sprays and Monster Kolor heavy gloss, the masked beast stands at 4.25″ tall and 3″ wide. After weeks of tentative planning Mutant Vinyl Hardcore‘s first community driven series, the Skull Brain Allstars, has finally been revealed in all it’s glory! Using the Death Head DX as platform of choice, MVH has enlisted the talents of 5 of Skull Brain‘s finest to work their magic on the figure (Hellopike, Dlux, Ungawa222, Nebulon5 and Gatchabert), with 5 from each also joined by a run by MVH’s Rich himself. To go on sale this Friday, April 26th (time TBC) through the MVH store, the SB Allstars will interestingly be sold blind bagged for $100 a piece, coming packed with header art from Skull Brain members… Head over to the MVH page here to sign up for further info.

Whilst we rather impatiently wait for the delivery of the first batch of unpainted Evolved Beast Digglers, Splurrt shares images of the latest monstrosity heading to soft vinyl… presenting the Cadaver Twins! As with the new Diggler, it appears the hideous beast will be significantly larger than his older brothers, this time around coming with 4 fully articulated arms and 3 legs. Unfortunately news on the release is still thin on the ground at the moment (we suspect it’ll be at least Autumn before it sees the light of day), so we suggest keeping track of the Splurrt IG feed here for any further developments…
MAN-E-NEWS// Japanese Ion Men factory samples from A.O.I…
After a whopping 14 months on the drawing board, Any Old Ion‘s labour of love, the ‘Japanese Ion Men’ modular sofubi have finally been revealed in near-finished factory sample form! Consisting of a staggering 51 different soft vinyl cast parts designed by A.O.I in conjunction with turboPISTOLA, the series features a number of interchangeable pieces inspired by previous A.O.I releases ‘Atomic Beartank’ and ‘Seismic Ace’, Spanky Stokes’ Stroll, plus a number of all-new designs from the pair. Cast in a soft Japanese vinyl by none other than Velocitron, we should hopefully be seeing the first release soon… We’ll be interested to see whether the line will be offered up as a set of individual parts or as fully assembled bots, and of course, how colour will be dealt with considering the interchangeability factor- the possibilities are limitless! Either way, this will be one series any diehard ‘bot fan will NOT want to miss…

Filling the gap whilst we wait to see what’s in store for this month’s Superfestival, Jon over at Rampage Toys has teamed up with Uky Daydreamer for an impromptu blind-bag custom release! Featuring a total of 40 creatures from Uky’s new micro sofubi line, the little guys have been cast in a mixture of orange, blue, green and milky soft vinyl, with painting duties split between the artists. Packaged in a closed silver bag with Rampage Studios header, the figures are available from the Rampage store right here for just $12 each plus shipping… Joining the micros, Jon has also got to work on one of Uky’s bigger Jellien sofubis. With ToyConUK just a few days away now, The Tarantulas finally reveal the plethora of exclusives they’ll be bringing along to the Fishtank Castle LIVE booth… Neo-kaiju fans not attending the event be warned- you’re going to be turning all shades of green when you see what’s on offer! For those lucky few that are though, here’s a quick rundown of what you can can expect…
Bubblegum II// Based on the 2009 SDCC resin NIBBLER release, this ‘remake’ has been cast in a flesh soft vinyl, coming complete with black eyepatch. This little guy will be available when the doors open at 10am.
Chompy Man// Once again opting for an awesome flesh-toned soft vinyl, Chompy Man comes with a striking pair of blue pants inspired by Action Man. He will also be available open doors.
1983// The rather aptly titled figure comes in a mix of familiar 80′s action figure colours that The Tarantulas played around with when the NIBBLERS were originally conceived. Unlike the previous figures, 1983 will drop at some point in the afternoon. We suggest keeping on the lookout for this one, it’s going to disappear pretty quick!
Joining the big 3, The Tarantulas have also confirmed a super limited batch of mixed part Real x Nibbler one-offs, the remaining 10 copies of the 1983 Annual, a special ‘under the counter’ resin release, plus a whole host of guests that will be dropping by throughout the event… Expect a full booth reveal over the weekend!
