RESTORE join forces with Medicom Toy for the third instalment of the Eternal Cloud sofubi figure-cum-sculpture, the Ji-Long Red Dragon edition! Featuring a beautiful array of pearl orange, metallic yellow, blue and red sprays, the intricately detailed shrine and horns have been cast separately in a jade green resin. Currently available to Japanese customers through the Medicom Toy store for 12,000yen ($117) plus shipping, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for a limited worldwide release at some point in the future…

Joining the previously featured Teenage Riot Figures, mad genius Matias of Kalaka Toys is proud to present another series that’ll be up for grabs in his store soon, the Radballs! Kit-bashed from a variety of vintage toys and found objects including a “Bruise Brother” Madball Head Popper, the 4″ tall figures have been cast in resin by Matias, coming with a mix of metallic sprays and neon hand painted detailing. Joining the increasingly large list of must-haves this month, Medicom Toy have revealed yet another jaw-dropping exclusive, the first painted run of the MVH x Skinner Krawlus! Standing a whopping 14″ tall, the split-design monstrosity appears to have been cast in a white soft vinyl, coming with a stunning mix of blue/grey, black, gold and red sprays courtesy of Shirahama Toy. Currently available to order in Japan through the Medicom Toy store, overseas customers are going to need to fill out a separate lottery form right here. Running until May 10th, successful applicants will be expected to pay 23,760yen ($232) to secure the piece…

Revealed during our Wonderfestival coverage back in February, it came with great pleasure this week to find out that the first round of jumbo sized Cosmos Aliens are finally up for grabs! Standing at around 8″ each, both figures from the original mini gacha line-up feature, with Alien A (Octopus/Ooze-It bootleg) coming in a red vinyl with tea sprays, and Alien B (Fish) in blue with silver sprays. Up for grabs through the Medicom Toy store right here, both come packed with ooze plug accessory and art card for just for 8,000yen ($78) each plus shipping. Limited to Japanese orders only at present, overseas collectors are unfortunately going to need to hit up the usual forwarding services to bag these…

Joining the previously posted Bloody Sametan micro run, Koji Harmon over at Comet Debris proudly present the second exclusive figure he’ll be bringing along to Superfestival 65 this Sunday… the “Lucky Golden” Kappa Shonen! Once again limited to just 5 figures, Kappa has been cast in the same clear green as the recent ToyCon UK release, this time around with a mix of gold and black masked sprays. Karz Works have teamed up with Medicom Toy to take on another literary classic in kaiju form, William Golding’s Lord of the Flies! Taking a literal approach to the mythical creature that is implied throughout the book, the wonderfully detailed figure stands at just under 10″ tall, coming with a mix of metallic sprays on a dark soft vinyl base, complete with a pair of clear blue cast wings. Currently available to Japanese customers through the Medicom Toy store for 14,000yen ($137) plus shipping, overseas collectors can expect a limited supply to filter through to the likes of TAG, Angel Abby and Lulubell later in the year…

MAN-E-NEWS// TKOM’s Double Think sofubi proto revealed…

Steadily teasing us with his incredible, yet sadly unobtainable fibre glass sculptures over the past year or so, TKOM has just revealed that his most popular character, Double Think, will soon finally be available to the masses as a fully-fledged sofubi! Making it’s first appearance at ArtLAB’s DYSTOPIA last summer as a towering 2 foot one-off, the unique blend of neo-kaiju, Garbage Pail Kids, and even George Orwell’s epic, 1984, the stunning piece has been completely re-sculpted and tooled for the new medium, coming in at a still-impressive 11″ tall with 4 points of articulation (and chain ball accessory!). Cop A Squat Toys have teamed up with Steve Erst of Liverdiet fame for the latest run of Semi Korosiya sofubi! Limited to an edition of just 8 this time around, the C.A.S.T designed, Chauskoskis sculpted figure has been produced in a gorgeous frosted clear soft vinyl, coming with light blue and pink sprays with hand painted face details. Each coming packed with a limited 8″x10″ serigraph and header illustrated by Erst and printed by the AS Printing Press, the figures will be going on sale at the C.A.S.T store this Friday, April 25th at 7pm EST… But that’s not all! C.A.S.T have stated that 1 lucky purchaser will also receive a LiverDiet flat bill snapback with custom Sadness foil sticker (retailing at $25)- what more could you ask for?!

Celebrating the imminent release of cult horror Wolf Cop this summer, the guys over at indie film company Big Kids have teamed up with Eric Scarecrow to produce a fully-fledged companion action figure! Designed and prototyped by Wolf Cop monster-maker Emerson Ziffle and produced in vinyl by Scarecrow’s ESC Toy, the jaw-droppingly detailed figure stands at around 7.5″ tall, coming with an unbelievable 16 points of articulation for ultimate play/posability. Currently looking for funding for the project through Indiegogo right here, Big Kids are offering up a number of different tier pledges, including opening night cinema tickets to the film (June 6th in Canada, September Worldwide), posters, DVDs/Blurays, plus 2 different versions of the figure; a standard edition at $75, plus a collector’s set, limited to 100 signed and numbered figures complete with pewter gun and electric plated gold badge for $200. Joining the Basic Wars action figures posted yesterday, Kenth Toy Works have unveiled yet another release they’ll be bringing along to Superfestival this coming Sunday, the return of the Nadsat Boy sofubi! Taking obvious inspiration from A Clockwork Orange, Kenth’s signature character has been cast in a bright orange soft vinyl this time around, complete with black, silver and blue sprays. “(The) Koseki is a giant mineral monster who dwells in the abandoned mining caverns of long forgotten mining zones and makes it’s home in the dark winding shafts. MAN-E-NEWS// Triplikid’s Micro Mirth figure revealed…

With the previously revealed Mirth mini figure heading into production as we speak, Triplikid has just revealed an even more impressive prototype of the adorable character, a tiny micro-sized version! Designed by Triplikid and digitally sculpted by the guys at Mana Studios, the little guy originally debuting at NYCC last year as a full sized resin figure, with this new addition being shrunk down to a gumball scaled 20mm tall. Due to be produced by an undisclosed source (fingers crossed for rubber!), we’re told to expect Micro Mirth in the Triplikid store soon after the release of the mini… Stay tuned for full release details on both as soon as we get them!

Having recently completed a number of one-off customs for Purple Toys, artist Ruinskung has been given the honour of reimagining their popular Agent Sayaraku sofubi as a classic 3.75″ action figure! The above picture of a perfectly scaled down 3-Eyed Tiger head is all we have to go on at the moment, but we’re guessing the figure will take a similar approach to the recently posted Nadsat Boy and NoFuture from Kenth Toy Works, coming hand cast in resin with articulation in the arms and legs. Keep a close eye on both Ruinskung and Purple Toy IG feeds for more details on this intriguing project soon…

Max Toy Co are proud to reveal their latest officially licensed Ultraman figure, Ultra Nyan! Debuting at the next Tsuburaya Creative Jam 50 (celebrating 50 years of Tsuburaya Productions) at the Marui Store for Men in Shinjuku between April 26th and May 4th, the Makino-san (TTToys) sculpted figure comes cast in a GID soft vinyl with masked gold/red sprays and hand painted detailing. Unfortunately limited to Japan sales only due to licensing restrictions, those that are lucky enough to snap him up can expect to pay 4,860yen ($47)…

Mirock Toy have just unveiled their latest sofubi release just in time for Superfestival next weekend, the Meka Chibira-Kun set! Based on the iconic kids tokusatu Chibira-Kun, the fully licensed release features 3 characters from the show; Gakinko, GetData (PochiPochi) and of course Chibira, all reinterpreted in Mirock’s beautiful mechanised style (just check out the chibi riders sculpted in the chests!). News on the release is still scarce at present, although it looks as if the figures will be making their first appearance at the festival as a painted metallic run. Coming just in time for TMNT’s 30th Anniversary (and the release of a certain movie we can’t bring ourselves to mention here!), Goodleg Toys have teamed up with UK artist RICHT and the guys from Streets of Beige for the release of an all new resin action figure…  Nobody Likes Leonardo! Heralded as the most toxic Turtles bootleg the world has ever seen, the wonderfully hideous creation has been kit-bashed from a Mexican 5.5″ Lucha and a Polish TMNT bootleg, coming hand casted in translucent neon-green resin, with 4 points of articulation, a sword, and packaging designed by RICHT. Originally pairing up for the release of Bunnywith Vintage Packaging back in October of last year, dream team Alex Pardee and Aaron Moreno of Retroband are proud to present their latest resin action figure in all it’s slithery glory… SNAKE EYES! Based on Pardee’s original recurring character of the same name, the jaw dropping GI Joe inspired release features a custom 3.75″ that has been re-sculpted, cast and painted by Moreno. Packed on a deluxe card backer with separately blistered eye accessories, each figure comes signed with 2 free 8×10 “Snake Eyes” giclee prints and an official pamphlet on the origin of the character. Comprising of 2 little smoking buddies, an adorable Kush nugget and an equally as cute stoner sloth, the 2″ pieces were designed and sculpted by Ratking, coming cast in a variety of mixed one-off resin colourways including clears, opaques, GIDs and color changers.
