MAN-E-NEWS// The “My Pet Madball” resin figure from Motorbot…

PSX_20140822_084523

Originally teased here as a near finished sculpt a couple of weeks back, Motorbot‘s “My Pet Madball” resin has just been released in the Meathead store! Based on an illustration the artist created a couple of years back, the cycloptic beastie has been inspired by classic 80’s plush “My Pet Monster”, perfectly realised in 3D as an Madball-scaled, 3″ wide ball. Cast in solid resin, the figure has treated to a simple, flat paint job for this first run- which whilst in-keeping with the vintage Madball paint apps, is sadly lacking in the vivid hues of the original toy, or the detailed washes of Motorbot’s usual output. A minor flaw really, and one that both the impeccable concept and sculpt more than make up for… Residing in the store right here, My Pet Madball comes complete with handcuff display base (not pictured) for just $45 plus shipping… Here’s hoping for a blank run of these soon!

One of the hottest customisers in the scene right now, Joe Whiteford has just revealed yet another masterpiece now winging it’s way to a very lucky private collector- a hand painted version of The Disarticulators‘ Madball of Death! Designed/sculpted by Zectron and produced by our very own Tru:Tek, the split-design 2″ rubber ball has been treated to Joe’s signature mix of decaying skin and bloodied, glistening flesh, coming finished with a photo-realistic, blood shot eye. Unfortunately just a privately commissioned one-off at the moment, word has it that The Disarticulators will be teaming up with the artist for a special run of figures very soon- more news on that as soon as it’s been confirmed!

MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// The Ooze-It inspired “Monster on Your Finger” ring and the coming of Gory Hole…

photo 1 (57)

Today we can exclusively reveal an all-new project from the twisted alter ego of our editor Tru:Tek, Deadman… horror ‘zine, apparel and toy brand, GORY HOLE! Set to debut at NYCC ’14 with a limited sample run of issue “Zero”, alongside prints, t-shirts and other assorted merc, the first product to get a full official reveal comes in the form of the Ooze-It inspired “Monster on Your Finger” ring. The first in a series of jewellery inspired by classic bootleg monster toys, the ring – sculpted and produced in pewter by hugely talented Indonesian artist Baindots – takes on the form of the classic Ooze-It copy, the Cosmos Alien, rather than the original 70’s doll. Due to touch down at the Rampage Toys x Tru:Tek NYCC booth in October, details with regards to packaging, pricing, edition size and online availability will be unveiled closer to the event… You can expect more exclusive news on Gory Hole in the near future too!
