Unveiled in finished prototype form at Popcon Asia this weekend, Paulus Hyu‘s long awaited Sleepwalker sofubi is finally making its debut in the form of a custom painted run by Toy Kulture’s Indra Gunawan! Based on Hyu’s signature “Nimbus” French bulldog design, the Chauskoskis sculpted/Kurobokan produced figure stands at around 6″ tall, coming complete with articulation in both the neck and arms. Limited to a batch of 10 for this first release, the figure is currently being offered up via lottery priced at $110 each plus shipping. All you have to do to be in with a chance of picking one up is e-mail toykultur@gmail.com with the subject “Popcon Sleepwalker Lottery” by 11.59pm this Sunday, Sept 21st (Jakarta time)…

Produced in what appears to be a GID soft vinyl, the impressive 9″ long figure has been treated to the artist’s signature metallic and black accented sprays. MAN-E-NEWS// The Street Fighter II sofubi from Dune x Capcom…

Originally unveiled in unpainted flesh vinyl at Wonderfestival back in July, the first batch of figures in the officially licensed Street Fighter II Sofubi Series are now finally up for grabs! Created for Japanese retro-lifestyle brand Dune, the first wave of figures consists of 3 different characters from the brawler’s original starting line-up – Ryu, Ken and Vega (M.Bison in the West) – each standing between 9.6″-10″ tall and coming with 3 points of articulation. As with the original prototypes, these have once again been cast in a flesh colored soft vinyl, coming complete with authentic sprays in the game’s “Player 1″ colors. Priced at 8,424yen ($78) for Vega and just 7,992yen ($73) for the slightly smaller Ken and Ryu, the trio can be found in the Dune store right here for a limited time… Stay tuned for word on the next figure in the series – the mighty Zangief – very soon!

MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// The “Leucotomy Ball” from Leucotomy x The Disarticulators revealed…

Gabriel Mackenzie of UK apparel brand Leucotomy has teamed up with our very own Disarticulators for the release of his very own signature ball toy! Designed by Gabe and sculpted by the hugely talented Zectron, the 2″ ball – roughly the same scale as the previously released Oozeball – has been inspired by a Manga short story compilation (name forthcoming), blending a macabre, exposed flesh design along with elements from Cure’s Thorn Ball Boogieman to devastating effect. Currently undergoing rubber production courtesy of Tru:Tek, expect to see the first edition at the Rampage Toys x Tru:Tek NYCC booth (#402) next month, with an online release through the Leucotomy store soon after… Stay tuned for the full lowdown on the figure as we get a little closer to the event!

James Groman has just revealed a rather special little extra that’ll come packaged with the recently announced “Ultimate Color” Rotten Rexx preorder… a mystical “Idol” omake that is said to bring the undead beast to life! Standing at around 2.25″ and coming cast in soft vinyl, the little guy is likely to become a feature of all future Rotten Rexx releases, hopefully starting with NYCC in just a few weeks time… Keep track of the artist’s dedicated Instagram feed here for more news on the figure soon!

Elegab is proud to present the arrival of his latest kaiju creation, the stunning Hedornchaku! The artist’s latest take on the classic “Hedoro” (sludge) style monster, the impressive cycloptic sculpt stands at around 9″ tall, coming with articulation in the head, neck and tentacles. Debuting via the usual lottery system on the Elegab blog right here, 2 different colorways have been made available to start with – “Orange” and “Black” – both coming cast in a Japanese-produced soft vinyl and treated to Elegab’s signature metallic sprays for just 8,600yen ($79) a piece. Interested parties are going to need to head over to the site and follow the lottery entry instructions before close on Sunday, September 21st… Good luck to all who enter!

Teased here as a finished wax proto earlier in the month, Retroband‘s “Slimy Sean” mini figure has finally been revealed in full! The second instalment in the artist’s GPK-inspired “Retroband Kids” series, the 2″ figure follows a similar cult-horror theme as the first release, Toxic Timmy, this time around parodying Return of the Living Dead’s infamous Tarman to hilarious effect. Hand cast and painted by the artist, Sean comes packed on a GPK-style blistered trading card, complete with art from Retroband on the front, plus a 4 panel backstory from Worthy Enemies on the back. Due to touch down at the Retroband/Worthy Enemies Mondo Con booth (#T12) this weekend, full release details as still to be confirmed, although judging by the first release these are likely to be limited to 50, priced at $45 each…

Japanese illustrator Makoto Hidaka has teamed up with Rampage Toys for the release of his first ever sofubi, the adorable Bunnybear Fighter! Based on a character created by the artist, the 2″ soft vinyl micro has been sculpted and produced by Rampage’s Jon Malmstedt in what appears to be in an open-bottom finger puppet style. Making a simultaneous debut at the 2014 Taipei Toy Festival in unpainted flesh (pictured) and New York Comic Con in green, expect details on pricing and edition size over the next couple of weeks…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Toy Tokyo NYCC exclusive “8-Bit” Freddy and Jason ReAction Figures revealed…

The guys over at Toy Tokyo have just revealed 2 of the many exclusives they’ll have on offer at NYCC next month, the “8-bit” Freddy and Jason ReAction figures! Based on the original NECCA 7″ 8-bit figures released last year – which in turn were based on the ill-fated Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday 13th video games – the pair have been reduced down to 3.75″ action figure scale courtesy of Super7 and Funko for the release. Whilst full details are still to be confirmed, we’ll be hoping the duo come housed in similar retro-style window box dioramas as the originals- fingers crossed! Stay tuned for more news on the figures – as well as Toy Tokyo’s other exclusives – as we get closer to the event…

Never one to rest on his laurels, the mighty Paul Kaiju has already started to give us a glimpse into what we can expect in 2015… starting with this jaw-dropping “Powered” Boss Carrion teaser! Whilst the above pic is all we have to go on at present, it would appear that the figure will largely stay true to the original Boss design, albeit in a larger scale and with elements from both Mockbat and Slugbeard thrown in for good measure. One of many projects we’re sure the artist has underway for the new year, we’ll be keeping ear to the ground for more news on the figure soon…

Splurrt has just revealed that his Cadaver Twin sofubi will be the latest figure to get the life-size treatment courtesy of Toy Art Gallery! Created for the upcoming Halloween show at the gallery space, the hideous creation is currently being fabricated in fibre glass, standing at a lofty 30″ tall- 5 times the original’s size. Likely to go on sale at the shows opening on October 18th for upwards of $1500, expect a full reveal plus release details closer to the event…

Frank Kozik has just revealed that the latest Heathrow sofubi, the “Swamp” edition, will be touching down in his store today (9/17) at Noon PST! Standing at around 6″ of green soft vinyl, the figure has been treated to a mix of black/white sprays and hand painted detailing. Presumably limited to 30 signed and numbered figures, expect “Swamp” Heathrow to come packed with a custom header for around $75 plus shipping… But that’s not all! Joining Heathrow, Frank will also be unleashing a limited supply of his recent STGCC exclusives – a “Mint” Hateball set for $65 and the black/GID Mr Blackwater for $85 – so be sure to head on over to the store early and limber up that F5 finger to avoid disappointment!

Miso Mike over at the Omiso Factory has just revealed that his latest resin action figure is finally ready for release! A spiritual successor to last year’s incredible Mr Abnormal, the as yet untitled figure pays homage to the classic robot toy lines of the 70’s and 80’s, taking elements from the likes of Transformers and Micronauts, – including a stunning chunky aesthetic, modular, interchangeable parts and extensive articulation – and melding them together to form one of the most ambitious self produced figures we’ve seen to date. Featuring a total of 5 different head designs – ranging from a Duke Nuken-style flat top to a Shogun Warrior inspired mask – we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that we haven’t too much longer to wait until the must-have figure finally touches down. With the recently released Altered Beast “Aggar” figure proving to be a huge success, the guys behind retro apparel brand Geek Life have wasted no time in getting to work on the second figure in the officially licensed Sega Retro Game Sofbi Collection- taking on 1985 shooter Space Harrier’s “Mammoth” boss! A near-perfect rendition of the iconic cycloptic mammal in soft vinyl, the figure appears to be roughly the same scale as Aggar (around 9″ tall), coming with articulation in all 4 legs and both tusks. Release details on the figure are still to be confirmed at present, but with a successful test-shot in place, we’re guessing we should only have another month or 2 to wait…

After nearly a year since the first reveal at NYCC ’13 last October, the guys over at Unbox Industries are very proud to share production shots of Skinner‘s jaw-dropping “Lolgolth Gnazgoroth” vinyl figure in full! One of the most ambitious full-production art toys to date, the incredible figure features an unparalleled amount of detail, with limitless new skulls, tentacles and monsters to be found at every glance of the haunting creation. Debuting at Mondo Con this weekend (9/20-9/21) – presumably in the unpainted black and red colorways pictured above – we’ll be keeping our ear to the ground for full release details later in the week…

In a controversial move considering recent news events, NY-based artist Healeymade will be bringing back his masked Minute Man resin for a special “Levantine” edition later on today! Kit-bashed from a variety of vintage toys including a static Disney “Aladdin” PVC mini, the 3.5″ figure has been hand cast by the artist, coming in a stunning marbled clear red and yellow resin this time around. Touching down in the Healeymade store tonight (9/15) at an undisclosed time (9pm EST if we were to guess!), the latest version of the Minute Man has been priced at just $30 plus shipping…
