As promised last month, Hong Kong-based sofubi producers SKULLMARK have just released the third figure in their debut line “Galaxy Commanders”, Commander Dagan! Directly inspired by obscure 1977 action figure line “Starroid Raiders” from Tomland, the 9” tall Dagan comes with the same standard body design as the previously released Cytron and Nizard, this time cast in an authentic blue vinyl with masked yellow/black sprays and a control panel insert. Available exclusively via preorder through Toy Underground right here, the figure can be yours for just $69.99 plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// The chibi keshi “Zagoran” and “Shogun” from Gargamel x Eric Nilla…

Having had continued success with their highly sought after “Cast Figure” resin sets, Gargamel have revealed that they’ve teamed up with none other than Eric Nilla to enter the keshi arena with chibi versions of both Zagoran and Shogun! Standing at around 1.5” each – a touch smaller than the current Gargamel micro line – the adorable duo have been beautifully realised by Eric in a flexible, keshi-style rubber. Whilst we don’t have any details on their release at present, we suggest keeping a close eye on both the Gargamel and Eric Nilla Instagram feeds for more details soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Glitter Bomb” Finger Five sets from Fig-Lab…

Whilst the “Glitter Bomb” Unchiman has unfortunately long since sold out (check him out here), Datadub over at Fig-Lab is proud to reveal that his Finger Five sofubi finger puppets have received the same sparkly treatment! Featuring a total of 5 figures based on iconic characters from Paul Kaiju, Lamour Supreme, Matt Doughty, Sucklord and Monstre Hero, the little guys have been produced in both silver and red glitter-infused vinyl this time around, coming in at just 5,000yen ($42) a set plus shipping. Originally debuting at the beginning of the year, Algangu is proud to present the “2nd Phase” of his sofubi mini, The Dissolution of Smoke! Heavily inspired by the 1970’s candy shop playing cards of the same name, the awesome 4″ tall, 2-part mini has been produced in a navy blue soft vinyl this time around, coming with metallic blue sprays and masked eye detailing. Packed with a selection of 4 officially Kobayashi-licensed “Dissolution of Smoke” cards, the figure will be touching down in the Fat Moes store on Saturday, March 7th at 8pm Japan time with 2 different buying options available; painted, for 4,320yen ($36) and blank, coming in at just 3,780yen ($32). “CERRITO is a cryptic creature whose legend was born in South America and expanded worldwide. After a long gestation process, countless subtle design modifications, some production tests, many cups of coffee and several litres of beer, Argentinian based artist César Zanardi is proud to reveal that the first edition of his debut sofubi CERRITO is finally ready! Originally seeing various incarnations in resin, the mythical creature features a simple 2-part design with articulation in the neck, with this debut release seeing the little fella cast in both “Jade” and “Terracotta” coloured soft vinyl with matching rub. Currently available at One-Up’s Akihabra and Nakano stores for just 3,000yen ($25), international orders can be placed through the online store right here

MAN-E-NEWS// Super7’s Astro-Mu 5 sofubi minis revealed…

A reboot that’s been almost 8 years in the making, Nakajima’s iconic sofubi line Astro-Mu 5 will once again see the light of day this week courtesy of Super7! A huge inspiration for some of the most highly sought after sofubi around at the moment – Paul Kaiju’s Mr REE and Ilu Ilu’s Tokio Supernova in particular – the classic 70’s soft vinyl line consisted of a core group of 6 humanoid figures, each coming complete with removable helmets, gloves and boots, and featuring a neat “nodding” function with the press of a button on the chest. Whilst this first round of figures WON’T be based on these 9” designs, the 3 figures up for grabs – Earth, Mars and Jupiter – have been taken from the accompanying mini series, standing at around 4” tall and coming in 2-parts. Produced in a glossy black soft vinyl for this first outing, the trio will be up for grabs in the Super7 store this Thursday, March 6th at NoonPacific time for just $45 each plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Medicom Toy exclusive “Oni-Sakura” NEO JAPAN from RESTORE…

As if the recently released Jungle Fever “Fog” exclusive wasn’t enough (check it out here), RESTORE have revealed that they’ll be teaming up with Medicom Toy once again next month for a special run of “Oni-Sakura” NEO JAPAN sofubi! Featuring the standard NEO body with the all-new demon head sculpt, the 8” tall figure appears to be cast in an orange/red vinyl for this second release, with the figure’s staggering 33 paint masks in full-effect with a mix of tight black, green, gold, blue and orange sprays. Set to drop on the Medicom Toy store via pre-order starting March 24th, be sure to stay tuned for word on pricing and availability soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// New “Dr Mortality” and “Sushi Dokuro” sofubi from Secret Base…

Secret Base have just unveiled two new toy releases in their online store! First up, we have the latest edition of the grim-looking Dr Mortality. Coming cast in a clear blue glitter vinyl with white glow in the dark head, feet and arms, the stunning piece – designed by famed tattooist Chris Trevino – has been treated to blood-like splatters and a detailing hugging black rub. Priced at 9,504yen ($79), Dr Mortality can be found in the SB store here… Next up, we have the second colorway of Secret Base’s latest collaboration with Three Tides Tattoo’s Hirakawa Hiroshi, Sushi Dokuro. Standing at a little under 7.5” tall, the stunning statuesque piece has been given a weathered paint app to appear like vintage gold leaf. Priced at 9,720yen ($81), the sushi priest can be found alongside Dr Mortality right here

Wasting no time since our “Moon Dust” sale last week, we’re very proud to reveal the latest painted Oozeball run in all its glory, the “Osaka Sofubi Banbaku” exclusive edition from Rampage Toys x The Disarticulators! Produced in the same super-squishy silver lame vinyl used for the “Moon Dust” release and fitted with the now-standard squeaker in the rear, the Tru:Tek designed, Zectron sculpted sofubi has been treated to metallic green sprays courtesy of Rampage’s Jon Malmstedt, with a single one-off chase – pictured below – coming with a slew of extra fades and detailing in a mix of metallic purple, orange, silver and red. Limited to an edition of just 10 priced at 5,000yen ($42) each, the balls will be up for grabs at the upcoming Osaka Sofubi Banbaku event (dates forthcoming), with any leftovers making it to the Rampage store soon after… Look out for details of the first online-exclusive painted run in the next couple of weeks!

Japanese Star Wars fan site and retailer Star Case have just revealed that their hilarious bootleg sofubi line “Space Convoy” is set to return with two all new characters soon! With just the head sculpts unveiled so far – one of which has been shamelessly based on the Tusken Raiders – we can only assume that they’ll follow previous releases and be offered up together as alternative heads for a new base figure. With no further information available at present, we suggest keeping a close eye on the Star Case Instagram feed here for more reveals from the project soon…

Japanese apparel brand Punk Drunkers have teamed up with artist Dehara Yukinori for a special ”Guy” edition of his highly sought after “Jingi” and “Satoshi-kun” sofubi! Featuring all-new head sculpts based on PD’s mascot – the creepy puppet-like “Guy” – the pair come in their OG colorways, with Jingi produced in a flesh vinyl with blue, white, black and pink accents, and Satoshi-kun in a mix of grey, blue, flesh and black with various highlights. Priced at just 8,964yen ($75) each, the duo are currently up for grabs via limited pre-order through the Punk Drunkers store right here

Fresh from the success of both the Evil Demon and Bukimi Kun sofubi, Shigeo Endo over at Bukimi Blasters has just revealed that a third, full-sized figure is set to drop soon! Pictured here as a near finished clay proto, the as-yet-unnamed beast carries a similar aesthetic to previous releases, drawing inspiration from Obake yokai, 80’s gross-out toys and neo kaiju to devastating effect. Due to be making it’s debut in soft vinyl at some point in May, be sure to stay tuned for more news on this awesome figure over the coming weeks…

Gorgoloid are proud to reveal that they’ve just unleashed 2 all-new figure in their online store! First up, we have the grotesque looking Kaiju Chubs… Standing at a monstrous 5” tall and weighing in at an impressive 260g of solid resin, the stunning hand crafted piece has been dyed and sprayed with layers of Monster Kolor paint, coming complete with custom glass eyes and 2 points of articulation for just $75… Next, we have the debut of Gorgoloid’s latest mini-kaiju, the Kappas! A gorgeous take on the classic Japanese yokai, the little guy has been hand sculpt and cast in resin, coming in a choice of unpainted mint, teal, white, blue and pink resin for just $20 a piece. G.R.U.P Design’s awesome sofubi debut, the adorable Rimey, has just received it’s latest colorway courtesy of Kenth Toy WorksBased on G.R.U.P’s signature mummy character, the 4″ figure was actually sculpted by Kenth, coming in at around 4″ tall with articulation in the neck and arm. Produced in an undisclosed color soft vinyl, the limited run of 10 figures have been treated to a stunning paint app for the release, coming with a mix of purple, green, yellow and orange washes and sprays. Hot on the heels of last month’s “Lil Alex” release, Nigo over at BlackBook Toy has revealed that Frank Kozik‘s “Dim” A Clockwork Carrot figure is also set to join in a matching “Haunted” colorway this weekend! Standing at around 9″ tall and featuring 4 points of articulation, the Clockwork Orange inspired piece has been produced in a smoke-clear soft vinyl this time around, coming with a mix of black, grey, white and gold masked sprays and fitted with either a gold or black colored chain.  Touching down in the BlackBook Toy store alongside a limited restock of “Haunted” Alex this Saturday, February 28th at 10pm Eastern time, pricing and edition size for the figure are still to be confirmed…

Staying within the realms of sofubi micros today, we bring you the latest figure from Science Patrol, prehistoric invertebrate, the Ankyloworm! Taking a brief side-step from SP’s usual yokai-influenced output, the little guy – coming in at around 2.5” tall – appears to draw it’s inspiration from the recent revival of classic keshi lines such as Neclos Fortress, opting for a look that sits neatly in-between kaiju and D&D. Pictured here as a finished wax prototype, expect to see the Ankyloworm in soft vinyl very soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Tofu sofubi micro from Devil Robots x Rampage Toys revealed…

From the looks of his recent studio posts, it would appear that Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has a whole slew of new vinyl coming over the next few months, the first to be revealed coming in the form of this adorable Tofu micro for Devil Robots! Standing at little over 2” tall, the beautifully realised 2-part figure has been hand sculpted by Jon based on DR’s signature character, coming with a few slight adjustments to make the little guy more suitable for soft vinyl. Currently in the wax prototyping stage, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for a debut release in the next couple of months…

MAN-E-NEWS// DeathCat Toys’ “Cerebus” Elder Demon revealed in full…

Wasting no time since the release of the first round of Elder Demons in keshi-form just a couple weeks back, Johan Ulrich over at DeathCat Toys has just revealed the series’ third entry in full, evil hellhound Cerebus! Designed by Johan and once again sculpted by the masterful KtoKto, the 3” tall mini – named after the three headed dog tasked with guarding the gates of hell – follows a similar approach to the previously released Oni Mira and Red Pharaoh, featuring a Bukkuriman/Ma-Ba Zombies inspired aesthetic with a split torso, finger puppet style design. Presumably seeing a run in a keshi rubber courtesy of DuboseArt ahead of full production in soft vinyl later in the year, be sure to stay tuned for more news on this awesome figure as soon as we get it…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Chinpira” kaiju from Yamomark…

Satoru Doki over at Yamomark has just revealed his latest full-sized kaiju to make it into vinyl, the awesome Chinpira! Borrowing elements from the previously released Yamobazooka and Dobler, the approx. 9” tall beast comes with a number of eye-catching design features, including a tree trunk-like arm, a snake companion resting on his shoulder, and a rather ominous phallic-shaped head! Pictured here in it’s debut colorway – GID vinyl with a mix of pink, blue, gold, metallic brown and green sprays – it would appear that Chinpira will be making it’s first appearance at the upcoming Doki Doki Osaka Sofubi Show next month. Here’s hoping for an international online release soon after…

Our good friend Lee Burbridge over at Bigmantoys has just revealed that he’ll have an all-new series of figures up for grabs this weekend, “Los Guerreros Transformados”- The Transforming Warriors! A loving homage to the mysterious Mexican MOTU knock offs that came packed with random color limb/weapon assortments, the line fuses elements from the artist’s background in both keshi minis and 5.5” action figures,featuring bootlegged REMCO bucks cast in an assortment of different colored rubbers and fitted with contrasting hard resin heads and accessories- perfect for prolonged play!
